چکیده
bovine theileriosis is important disease in tropical and subtropical areas with great economic losses in livestock husbandry in iran. the aim of study was to assess the prevalence of theileria annulata infection in cattle and hyalomma species of kermanshah province, iran. a number of 138 blood samples were randomly taken from examined cattle. the genomic dna was extracted and pcr was performed to specifically amplify a 721-bp-long fragment of the 30 kilo dalton major merozoite surface antigen (30 kda msa) of t. annulata. the amplified products were digested with taqi, rasl, and alui restriction enzymes. overall prevalence was 9.44% (13/138) with lymphadnopathy (1.17%) and pale mucosal membrane (1.9%) in holstein cattle aged

متن کاملDetection of Theileria annulata carrier cattle by PCR.
A simple method for treating bovine blood samples for direct detection of T. annulata in carriers, after polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification of small subunit ribosomal RNA (SSU rRNA) gene is described. The threshold of detection of the PCR-assay was an erythrocytic parasitaemia of 0.00008% corresponding to 16 infected bovine erythrocytes. In 50 known carriers, 42 were positive in PCR,...

Control of Theileria annulata in Iran.
Tropical theileriosis or Mediterranean Coast Fever - caused by Theileria annulata - is a disease of cattle widely distributed across southern Europe, north Africa and central Asia. Its distribution broadly corresponds with that of its main ixodid tick vectors Hyalomma excavatum and H. detritum (Fig. 1). 'Exotic' cattle (Bos taurus) are particularly susceptible with mortalities up to 40-80% in s...
متن کاملNatural infection rates and transmission of Theileria annulata by Hyalomma anatolicum anatolicum ticks in the Sudan.
Hyalomma anatolicum anatolicum nymphs were collected from two localities in the Sudan: Eddamer in Northern Sudan and Wad-Medani in Central Sudan. They were allowed to moult to adult ticks, which were assessed for Theileria infection in their salivary glands using Feulgen stain. At Eddamer, 49.6% of 123 ticks examined were infected with Theileria and the mean intensity of infection was 1.3 (i.e....
